Creating and Editing Tables |
Note: When EditLive! loads, the table toolbar is hidden. To show it, right click in the toolbar area and click Table Toolbar.

Click Insert table
, select the number
of rows and columns you want by typing the number into the Rows and Columns
fields or using the arrows. Change the layout
of the table by changing the alignment,
border size, cell padding, cell spacing, and specify width. Once the
settings have been changed, click OK.

Note: Cell padding is the amount of space between the data in the cell and the cell border. Cell spacing is the spacing between cells.
Once the insertion point is inside a table, the Tab key can be used to select the next cell. Similarly, holding Shift while pressing Tab will select the previous cell.
This navigation flows between rows, forward from the end of one row will select the first cell of the next row and vice versa.
If Tab is pressed in the last cell of the last row, a new row will be created at the end of the table.
Click Insert Column to the Left/ Insert Row Above
. Columns will appear on the left of the insertion point and rows will appear above.

Move the insertion point inside the table. Right-click to open the shortcut menu, click on the Insert submenu and click on the Column to the Left/ Row Above command.

Open the Table menu, click on the Insert submenu and click on the Column to the Right/ Row Below command. Columns will appear to the right of the insertion point and rows will appear below

Open the Table menu, click on the Insert submenu and click on the Cell command. The new cell will appear to the left of the insertion point.
Put the cursor in the column/row you want deleted and click Delete Columns/ Delete Rows
. Multiple columns/rows can be deleted simultaneously by selecting more than one column/row.

Move the insertion point inside the column/row you want to delete. Right-click to open the shortcut menu, click on the Delete submenu and click on the Columns/ Rows command.
Move the insertion point inside the cell you want to delete. Right-click to open the shortcut menu, click on the Delete submenu and click on the Cell command.

Open the Table menu, click on the Delete submenu and click on the Cell command.
Highlight the cells you want to merge and click Merge Cells.

Highlight the cells you want to merge. Right-click to open the shortcut menu and click on the Merge Cells command.
Select the cell you want to split and click Split Cell. The cell contents will be split at the insertion point.

Move the insertion point inside the cell you want to split. Right-click to open the shortcut menu and click on the Split Cell command.
Move the pointer inside a table cell and right-click. Open the Properties submenu and select Table Properties from the shortcut menu. Change options by typing in the relevant information or using the arrows, and click OK.

Move the cursor over the table border until the cursor changes. Click and eight handles will appear. Put the pointer on a handle and drag to change the length and width of the table.
